Recent studies with swine wound healing using a freeze-dried version of WHD-1 have also been very effective. Full-thickness defect wounds were treated daily with either WHD-1 or standard care alone. Measured daily and documented with digital photography, WHD-1 treated wounds proved to heal more than 40 percent faster than control wounds (7.6 days compared to 10.8 days, p<0.049).
