In a study of 28 nude mice (14 pairs), we tested the effects of our product on full thickness wound healing rates. Each wound was treated daily with either our product or standard care alone. The treatment continued until each wound was completely healed. All the animals in the treatment group healed significantly faster than the control group (our product = 12.27±0.48 days Control = 16.91±0.87 days: P < 0.00029) In a similar study, we also measured ATP levels in both treated and untreated mice at day 2 postoperative, and the ATP content was significantly higher in the mice treated with our product and similar to non-wounded skin. These preliminary experiments demonstrated that our product can provide ATP to the wound area to accelerate the healing process in a wound that has normal perfusion.
